Rafting New Zealand first began as Rock ‘n’ River Adventures in 1991. It’s founders Rod Brown (Pianika’s dad), and Tui Brabyn, had a vision to operate, not necessarily the biggest, but definitely the best white water rafting business in Aotearoa............... This vision is realised and continued today.
OUR BASE
Located at the southern end of Lake Taupo in the Alpine Village of Turangi you get to experience a unique part of Aotearoa just by visiting us. With modern facilities, friendly atmosphere, hot solar powered showers, retail shopping, Ozone espresso coffee and cold Taa kawa beer for sale, you are well catered for!
ENVIRONMENT
We are lucky enough to have our ‘’office’’ as some of New Zealands most beautiful and pristine wilderness". Based at the southern end of Lake Taupo, (New Zealands biggest lake), and nestled amongst the mountains/volcanoes of the Tongariro National Park, "World heritage Area", here at Rafting New Zealand we often awake saying, "another day in paradise". With Mt Tongariro (Tongariro Crossing), Mt Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom from the Lord of the Rings triology), Mt Ruapehu (Whakapapa/Turoa ski fields’s). We live and work in a natural playground of un-surpassed beauty.

Our gear is up dated annually and is of excellent condition.
We are audited each year by Maritime New Zealand and continually receive the highest marks in safety and service. We were the first rafting company to gain the internationally recognised QualMark Award for excellence in safety and service -you can be completely confident when booking your rafting adventure with us.
